Very cold day today and cloudy with a light breeze! Eileen won the award for the most layers...7 layers of shirts and jackets and she could still move her arms, too. Another good day with no major injuries. More siding and trim went up today. The facia was corrected on one end of the house so the drip edge could be completed. Jeanne and Eileen learned that a utility knife is not a straight edge but a "utility knife". Darrell and Bill (our site supervisor) worked on the roof installing the flashing and finished as it started to sleet...very slippery up there. Got to eat lunch in the house today since the subcontractors were done and it was less breezy in there. Kay and Linda sacrificed and left the site early to go pick up Dave so he could see our site and then we all left for a dinner at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. We were invited to join them at the dinner they serve each week on Wednesdays before their evening activities. Many thanks were extended to us all. The South Highland Church builds one house each year with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity in Birmingham is known to be one of the most successful groups in the country and has completed 1000 homes in 25 years.
