“Code Purple” is a program supported by the Newark Empowerment Center. In the winter, when temperatures drop to dangerous levels, seven churches in the area open up, in rotation, for overnight housing of homeless people. Volunteers are critical and are needed to support those events. There are a lot of opportunities with varying amounts of time required. Please consider helping our neighboring churches in this life saving program. Contact Tom Parkins (302) 731 8193 mrfizzix@aol.com

Eight Newark churches participate in Code Purple. As soon as NEC declares a "Code Purple" night, the host churches activates its volunteer staff.
